Isle of Wight businessman in court for assaulting girlfriend — causing her head to split open
A BUSINESSMAN banged his girlfriend's head repeatedly against a wall — causing her head to split open — before she fled the house in her pyjamas, the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court heard. Kevin Rann, 51, of Sandford, Godshill, admitted assault by beating at the court on Tuesday (December 17). Ann Smout, prosecuting, said he pushed his partner into a wall, cutting her head open. He followed her round the house, banging her head repeatedly against the wall. She tried to get into her car but he took the keys, so she ran into Godshill, wearing her pyjamas, and was taken by a passing van driver to a friend's house. She had to have her head injury glued together. Olivia Haggar, for Rann, said the couple were no longer together after their five-year relationship, and Rann had no previous record of violence.
